Elements of Biography and Autobiography in the Works of Roman Literature Authors (a view on translations and adaptations)
In recent literary studies, renewed attention has been directed toward works that contain elements of biography and autobiography, making it possible to reconsider perspectives on the shaping of a clear generic tendency, whose beginnings are not always interpreted in the same way. Particularly noteworthy is the emphasis on the value of biographical elements in authors of ancient literature, both Greek and Roman, as well as in Christian Latin literature, which finds a clear reflection in The Confessions (Confessionum libri XIII) of Saint Augustine, an author renowned for several important works in the history of Christianity, especially for the portrayal of his personal meditations on the path toward Christian faith. Numerous authors have become part of discussions on biographical and autobiographical literature, allowing for the presentation of comparative approaches among them, especially when they lived in different periods, while at the same time enabling the tracing of similar elements in motifs and subjects. In certain authors, the biographical element clearly becomes a central motive of their creative work, as well as a criterion for the selection of the literary model to be followed. Texts with elegiac notes, at the same time conveyors of a typical formation such as that of the neoterics, became well known as they were transmitted from tradition to tradition, thus becoming merged/unified whenever the author’s name was mentioned. Catullus sings to his deceased brother who, moreover, rests in distant lands; in order to reach his place of burial, the poet must undertake a long journey, crossing seas and vast distances. His sentences have become proverbial and represent, as an incipit, one of the most renowned creations in Roman literature of his time. In this study, we have highlighted several authors of Roman literature, some of whom are clearly representatives of classical Latinity, both in terms of linguistic achievements and in the literary models they practiced. Regarding specific examples, passages from Albanian translations of Latin classics are illustrated, with reference to the translations of Henrik Lacaj (1909–1991), a profound connoisseur of Latin literature, particularly of the classical and imperial periods.
The history of Albanian written literature in thematic works within a systematizing perspective (1950-1985)
With the attention that earned recently again the matter of re-compilation of the history of Albanian written literature, the return to the previous models of its realization constitutes a strong incentive for reflection on the issue of considering the earliest written evidence in Albanian, but also of the entire cultural heritage that is transmitted in chapters, the treatments that are the content of previous publications on the same argument. Watched with a critical eye a few decades later, but also compared among themselves by researchers in the field, such publications, among which some with a school destination, constitute objects of increased attention in recent times, even more so if it is a matter of tracing a methodology of presentation of authors, compilers of works, but also of thematic works on the history of Albanian written literature. In this essay, was selected a period of time (1950-1985) in which several works of this nature have been accomplished, but different among them, and with a non-same trend in the presentation of authorial voices and related works.

The reflection of the institutions of antiquity in the writing activity of E. Haxhiademi
In the Albanian translations of E. Haxhiademi, intertwined elements of the ancient Greek and Roman world can be traced. The classical formation of the author is reflected in aspects of form and content, and even more if we take into account the creation of the works under his signature, that are based on well-known motifs of ancient mythology. Even in the case of treating and placing in the center of the work characters that are fundamental in major events described in ancient Greek and Roman literature, the author stands out for a register of names and titles that are related to such a formation, special and unique in many respects. In the works of Haxhiademi, titled and with the names of his own characters, such motifs, which are a combination of the essential elements of two worlds, can be traced in several aspects: in the metric construction, but also in the textual and substantive one. We point out these features in this synthetic treatment of ours, which was dedicated in particular to the reflection of the institutions of antiquity in the writing activity of the latter.
Reception of Scanderbeg’s history in some essential works in the written Albanian literature
The chronology of the written Albanian literature is above all related to the patchy texts and unique works from the content point-of-view, as each initial definition and of the presence in them of some textual elements defining the particularity and also the common thematic that makes possible a generalizing classification that characterize these works. In general, in the logical publications compiled by groups of authors and with a thematic that describes historiographically in details the works of the year 1500 and with written records about that time, we find them in line and treated with the right attention of elaborated fulfillments mainly at the beginning of this providential century, in which would be eternalized at the same time the concrete periods that encaptured the historical developments in our country, mainly the political personalities of the European dimension that influenced in the development of the time's historic events, among which beyond any doubt and the most impressive one remains Gjergj Kastrioti, Scanderbeg.
In memory of the most valuable early writer of albanian (language), Pjetër Bogdani, on the 330th death anniversary
Pjetër Bogdani remains one of the most important authors of old Albanian literature. His name and pastoral activity are often mentioned in ecclesiastical documentary corpuses compiled in Latin, giving information on the history of the Albanian church in the previous centuries. His work Cuneus prophetarum (Patavii, 1685) represents a commendable achievement in terms of the author's writing and the linguistic and literary uses contained in it. This work culminates in the Albanian written literature of the century in which this author lived, since thanks to him a book model known for the time is realized, which is also traced in the italic lands according to the respective ecclesiastical tradition. Bogdani remains a prominent personality of the XVII century, who masterfully delivered the Albanian language and literary forms of the time, contributing significantly to patriotism and the national cause. His scholar lexicon served as a model for later texts and works in the Albanian language, always of the same theme, the liturgical and theological one.
